If you’re looking for a road trip in Quebec, with spectacular views, then hop in your car and follow Quebec Scenic Route – Highway 132.  It’s the longest highway in Quebec, and loops around the Gaspé Peninsula. Consider driving it counter-clockwise, as very much of it is along the water.  It’s much easier to enjoy the view as you’re driving, and also easier to pull off to the side for admiring the beautiful views.  Here are a few examples of what it looks like to drive along this route:

Part 1: Quebec City to Mont Joli / Quebec Scenic Route – Highway 132

In this part of the drive you will be driving on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, and passing through charming little towns and neighbourhoods, including Saint-Romuald, Rivière des Couture, Rivière Blanche, and Rivière-du-Loup.  Here’s a glimpse of this drive:

Part 2: Matapédia River Valley / Quebec Scenic Route – Highway 132

After Mont Joli, the highway splits in two, and the road follows the Matapédia River down to the border of New Brunswick.  You will drive by Sayabec, the beautiful Lac Matapédia, Val-Brillant,  Sainte-Florence and Pointe-à-la-Croix.

Part 3: South Shore of Gaspé Peninsula

In this part of the drive, Route 132 runs along the south shore of the Gaspé Peninsula, with beautiful views of Chaleur Bay and the Gulf of St. Lawrence.  You will pass by Carlton-Sur-Mer, Maria, Saint-Godefroi, Paspébiac, all the way to the famous Percé Rock.

Part 4: North Shore of Gaspé Peninsula

From Gaspé, around Forillon National Park, past majestic lighthouses and lovely towns along the St. Lawrence River, this part of the drive is arguably the most beautiful!

Quebec Scenic Route 132 is also known as la Route des Navigateurs.  This road trip is one of the most beautiful in Canada.  You will not be dissapointed!  For more Quebec destinations, click here.
